We offer a diverse number of life enhancing services to our clients and every member of our team is essential in achieving this. As an organisation we are recruiting for a new Senior NCS Coordinator in Dorset , who will be responsible for the set up and delivery of all three NCS service lines delivered in the South West Region

NCS Programmes – ensuring the smooth set-up and delivery of NCS residential programmes, in Summer and Autumn seasons

NCS Skillsbooster –  15 hours of workshop delivery within schools/colleges (run during term time)

NCS Changemakers – 5 hours of monthly delivery themed around longer-term social action projects  (not run during summer delivery period)

Working alongside the NCS team you will ensure the successful implementation and delivery of the NCS activities in Poole and the surrounding area. This will range from owning school relationships and the recruitment of young people onto NCS programmes through high energy and impact recruitment events through to the execution of all NCS delivery in the region.

The roles and responsibilities will shift as the year progresses. You will start by spending a lot of time in our schools and colleges in Jan/Feb getting young people signed up to the NCS programme this will develop into sourcing venues and venue management, building relationships with community partners, amending session plans and risk assessments, seasonal staff training and ensuring all young person spaces on your programmes are filled, with participants excited and well prepared to engage.

This role will suit an ambitious, target-oriented,  self-starter, who would enjoy a varied and challenging role that is extremely rewarding

This role will involve regular evening and some weekend working.

  Key Responsibilities 

  • Responsible for the recruitment of young people onto the NCS programme and schools onto NCS skillsbooster, through high impact assemblies and other engaging recruitment activities.
  • Retention of young people throughout the customer journey, ensuring all participants (and their parents/guardians) are prepared and excited to take part in NCS
  • Support the recruitment of, and management of seasonal staff
  • Act as the main point of contact for all NCS queries in the southwest region
  • Support manager in ensuring all spending is in line with local budget
  • Ownership of the local community engagement strategy – to ensure all activities are embedded in local communities
  • Work with programme manager to ensure programme curriculum is high quality and has impact, and ensure that regional differences are implemented
  • Ensure all NCS activities are delivered to a high standard including risk assessments, appropriate venue booking and effective policies and processes
  • Responsible for reporting progress against KPIs through salesforce CRM and other reporting tools
  • Run five hours of delivery per month, as part of NCS Changemakers
  • Support other NCS departments if needed

Skills and Experience 

Essential 

  • Educated to A level or equivalent
  • Knowledge of the NCS programme (ideally through direct delivery or young person recruitment)
  • Experience of working on the implementation and delivery of small scale projects
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, youth engagement and leadership skills
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships
  • Target oriented
  • Ability to work under pressure to challenging targets
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Driving license and access to own vehicle

Desirable 

  • Full understanding and working knowledge of NCS
  • Experience of direct delivery of the NCS Programme
  • Youthwork background
  • Experience of people management
  • Experience using salesforce
  • Passion for inclusion, and developing inclusive practices through widening participation

Additional Information 

Salary: £25,000 - £26.000 per annum (depending on experience) 
Location:  Dorset 

Hours: 37.5 hrs ([Full time) Monday- Friday [This role will involve regular evening and some weekend working].
