• Twin Training International was founded, offering business and employability training as well as English language courses and internships. With its first government contract, it offered training to unemployed local residents in business skills.
• Twin English Centre London opened in a small building in London offering general English language courses. The school soon expanded into new premises in Lewisham High Street to cater to the high demand for courses, ranging from English to specialist subject

Twin began offering special summer programmes for juniors and international students at St. Dunstan’s College. Twin Summer Centres now provides English courses, football and tennis coaching at some of the best centres in the UK and USA to juniors aged 12-18.

Our first business acquisition in 1999 with LHS – also entered school group business by acquisition.

Twin Group achieved Investor in People accreditation and also acquired Eastbourne, Salisbury and Oxford English centres – Twin was now offering English language courses across four centres, plus six summer centres: St Dunstan’s, Colchester, Portsmouth, Saffron Walden, Guildford and Haywards Heath.

Twin Group celebrated its 10-year anniversary. Twin also bought Anglo Training, a company specialised in paid work experience placements in the hospitality industry to international students. This became WorkUK (now Twin Work Experience) a division of Twin Training International.

Twin Group won its first Leonardo da Vinci contract as a sending organisation, organising EU-funded internships in Europe. Twin also opened year-round centres delivering welfare-to-work training programmes in Kingston, Woolwich and Croydon. In the same year, Twin took part in a JMA pilot, working with more than 7000 students.

• As our Government training activities grew, we launched Twin Employment & Training (TET), to focus on UK Public sector contracts, with a recruitment team dedicated to employability services to jobseekers. TET's ‘Community Languages in the Classroom’ programme was recognised as ‘Most Inspirational’ by the London Development Agency.

• Twin Employment & Training expanded in London Boroughs, in response to local government priorities and specific programmes.  A new training centre in Barking & Dagenham borough for an ESF-funded welfare-to-work employability programme. In Bromley, a ‘Finding and Getting a Job’ programme with Jobcentre Plus Support.
• Always looking to fill a gap in the market or an unmet training need, Twin Group opened Twin International Study Centres (ISC) and launched a University Foundation Programme for overseas students. Twin ISC also facilitated progression partnerships with further universities: London School of Economics, Durham, York, Cardiff, Reading, Brighton, Goldsmiths and the University of London.
• Further expansion in Lewisham, Bridget Prentice (MP for Lewisham East) and Sir Steve Bullock (Lewisham Mayor) open our newly occupied ground floor. 
   

• Twin Summer Centres were accredited by the British Council and shortlisted for the 2010 LTM Star Junior Course for under 18s Award.
• TET was the top performer in the South London region of the New Deal 'Gateway to Work' programme for 18-24 year olds on behalf of the DWP.
• Twin International Study Centres expands academic programmes to include the CTH Advanced Diploma in Hotel Management, a College Year and the Graduate Career Development Programme. We also partnered with Leeds Trinity University College and St Dunstan’s College for pre-university and pre-Master’s courses.

4 Work Programme DWP contracts continue our support for the unemployed

• Twin Work & Volunteer provides our largest ever range of responsible travel programmes than ever before.
• 3SC, which joined our Twin Group in 2022, wins two programmes in Wales, both starting in 2013, ending 2015.  For the flagship Welsh Government “Jobs Growth Wales” programme, 3SC worked with VCSE’s to support 650 16-24 year-olds into lasting employment including in-work support.  Our Bridgend County Borough Council contract, Bridgend futures, supported 180 people (90 NEETs, 90 aged 50+), who were not supported by other provisions.

We became a Superstar! Joining an exclusive “club” of 13 providers ever to win a Study Travel Magazine reader-voted category in the star awards (in our case Work Experience) 5 times and reaching Superstar Status.

• A milestone year for us at Twin.  After 20 years in business, a move to purpose-fitted new, larger school and HQ within a new Greenwich community hub, which also houses a library, gym, swim, exercise studios and primary health providers.  A state-of-the-art facility for learners and Twin people.
• 3SC, recent member of the Twin family, contracted by the National Probation Service, part of the Ministry of Justice partners, with Community Rehabilitation Companies (CRCs), to manage a supply chain of VCSEs (Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise) supporting offenders to avoid re-offending.  Now 60 contracts across Merseyside, Cheshire, West Yorkshire, North Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Hampshire and Isle of Wight.

• TET achieves further significant expansion and recognition in Government training contracts, winning five new government contracts, of which 3 are prime contracts, including 2 prime ESFA ESOL Contracts in South and Central (new area for Twin) London. Twin and supply chain partners help yet more people into work.
• 3SC, recent addition to our Twin Group, wins a contract to provide Neurodiverse Strategy Coaching, helping neurodivergent people to understand their condition and develop personal strategies both to cope and realise their potential. Increasingly recognized, neurodivergence is recently estimated to affect 1 in 7 people in the UK.
   

• Twin moved the Eastbourne school to a new building at the heart of the town, and added three new locations for Summer Centres, including Chichester, Leeds and Blackheath.    
• ESFA contracts in South  and Central London now add participant training for Retail, Tourism, Hospitality and ICT.

• Our first National Citizens Service (NCS) Contract, life skills for 16-17 year-olds from all backgrounds.  Also our first University Employability programme for University of Greenwich International Masters students to get high specific professional work experiences.  Both programmes continue in 2022. We opened our first Irish English Language school.
• Awarded Erasmus Charter status – one of just 17 nationwide – following years of delivery of this international experience for young people in the UK.

• TET awarded Tier 2 Prime Contractor on CAEHRS  (Commercial Agreement for the Provision of Employment and Health Related Services); a very significant development – this 5-year framework, won for 3 regions, allows Twin to bid nationally for upcoming employability contracts.
• 5 new prime ESFA Contracts show Twin increasing our geographic presence – into LEP Regions with Skills Support for the Unemployed (SSU) in  “Coast to Capital”, Southwest England, Leicester and Southeast England – in this last region Skills Support for the Workforce (SSW) also.
• One of just 4 pilot providers for Reducing Parental Conflict, a DWP Programme designed to help parents, not least for the sake of their children – innovatively delivered online, generating key insights for productivity in delivery.
• Acquired LTC and moved our Eastbourne school to the beautiful historic building in Compton Park.

• Continued to deliver, online, in this covid-impacted year.  Also, secured two new subcontracts for JETS (Job Entry Training Support) in three areas – two in Southeast and one in new area West London
• 3SC, which joined our Group in 2022, wins Parental Employment Programme, funded by Greater London Authority and from European Social Funds (ESF).  Running from 2020 to 2023, the Programme supports parents of children age 6-11 in South and West London to find and sustain employment or increase their earnings in employment and offers help to employers seeking to become more family friendly.

• TET appointed as Tier 1 Subcontractor to Primes Ingeus and Jobs 22 in Southwark (a central London Borough) and Leicester respectively), quickly establishing ourself as a high performance subcontractor on the largest current DWP project.
• Entry into AEB (Adult Education Budget) in a Prime Contract for new commissioner Greater London Authority (GLA). Further AEB sees us winning and delivering a new category for Twin: Skills Bootcamps in a new skill domain – Cyber Security – in a new region, West Midlands Combined Authority.

Working with college partners, we secure contracts for the Turing scheme, the UK successor to Erasmus, sending to our own centres in Ireland and newly opened Valencia, Spain
Twin embarks on a unique AI (Artificial Intelligence) development with a distinctively empathetic avatar interface to provide highly efficient employability advice alongside human engagement with job-seekers. 
Cyber bootcamps delivery expands into London, Southeast, East Midlands, East of England and more for West Midlands – our first work for key commissioner Department for Education – DFE.
Our first National Careers Service (NCS) subcontract in London to deliver highly tailored careers support to participants.
Acquired the social enterprise 3SC, for its specialist knowledge in support for neuro-diversity, also marks our entry into a new region, Wales as well as serving a new sector for us – Justice.

Acquired the apprenticeships and training provider eTraining.
